About Pauline

Since pivoting from gardening to designing, Pauline has worked on both private and commercial garden design and planting projects, mostly based between Trowbridge & Bath. She is near completing a Post-grad diploma in Garden Design with the British Academy of Garden Design. Her original education is in Art and Design and she has a Degree in Fashion from Winchester School of Art. She's also worked as the sole gardener at a local independent school, so you can be assured that good planting is at the heart of all her designs.

How I work

I'm an independent designer and gardener, so will handle your initial consultation to design and planting myself at every step of the process. I have trusted landscaping contacts I can recommend for hard landscaping and fellow gardeners I can work with to install planting with me on larger projects.

Wildlife

As gardeners we can have an impact on our immediate environment. As a designer I always prefer the use of natural materials, local if possible. I never recommend the use of weedkiller, pesticides or artificial grass. I love to include native trees for birds and plants for pollinators and little logs piles in tucked away places for bugs.

Areas Covered

Much of my recent work has been in Bradford on Avon, Trowbridge, Frome, Bath and the surrounding villages. I travel up to a 15 mile radius before asking for travel time and expenses to be covered. It is also possible to engage a remote service, for garden design, bespoke planting plans and consultations.

Design

As well as full garden design, I also undertake planting plans and garden consultations for clients that would like advice only.

For garden designs, I work to a brief agreed after our initial meeting and produce mood boards for materials and planting palettes, plus hand drawn and rendered concept drawings, in both 2D and 3D.
